Gozo Treasure Hunt

Class Optical Group recently held its annual 'Staff Development Day' with this year's theme 'The Extra Mile'.

The full day activity consisted mainly of a treasure hunt. Staff were grouped in teams of six, with each team adopting the title of the respective eye wear brand names represented by the company.

Reaching Gozo by speed boats and using a fleet of 4x4 vehicles each equipped with hand-held tablets, all the teams took to the roads and some off-road routes, buzzing around the little island in search of the right spot to trigger the next task received via GPS.

This was a most enjoyable event that truly served its purpose of getting staff from different departments to interact on a social level and share their thinking skills to get to the various destinations within the allocated time.
"This is considered a day in the year where we acknowledge our people - the life blood of the organisation," commented Martin Mercieca, CEO of the Group. "Such events build on multiple levels - motivation, social, loyalty - having a positive impact on the long-term human resource objective."

The event included lunch purposely set up for the group, comprising over 40 employees, in a most attractive and unusual spot by the sea, which contributed to an exceptional day out.
