The optical laboratory is the manufacturing subsidiary of the organisation and importantly, considered the company’s core competence in that it reflects an organic growth in this wholly owned production process.

Since inception, the company has been involved in manufacturing that started off with the production of contact lenses and later producing optical frames before investing in what is today a fully-fledged ‘Free Form’ lens laboratory.

Ongoing investment in technology and manufacturing equipment ensures the lab maintains its position abreast with the latest processes combining the various production components (surfacing, polishing, tints, coating, edging and mounting).

Each optical job is tailored to accurately match the prescription requirements. Much focus is placed on quality control to ensure the highest standards are applied and product dispatched to retailers within the shortest time to ensure overall satisfaction in the value chain and optimum vision for the end customer.

The laboratory offers its production services to larger overseas firms who commission the company with specific production orders forming part of a wider Pan European lab network structure.

Tapping the export market is a key source for growth which is actively being pursued. The country’s proximity to the North African region places this territory foremost for business development.

We are proud to announce that Class Optical Manufacturing Limited is officially certified under UNI CEI EN ISO 13485:2021.

This certification covers:

• Manufacturing and placing on the market of non-active, non-implantable ophthalmic medical devices such as corrective lenses.

• Management of the adapting process for corrective spectacle frames.

• Contract manufacturing of corrective lenses.
